T’ai Chi Ch’uan is progressive, each class level building on the previous. The Second Section of the T’ai Chi Form builds on the skills and movements learned in both the Foundations and Form 1 classes. Practice and training in the Form 2 class continue to explore the principles behind the movements and the exercises while gaining a better understanding of energy and the energy movement within the body.

 

 

The Second Section of the 37-Posture Form includes the following 24 postures:

      • Bao Hu Gui Shan/Embrace the Tiger and Return to the Mountain
      • Xie Dan Bian/Diagonal Single Whip
      • Zhou Di Chui/Fist Under Elbow
      • Dao Nian Hou/Step Back and Repulse the Monkey
      • Xie Fei Shi/Diagonal Flying Posture
      • Yun Shou/Waving the Hands in the Clouds
      • Dan Bian Xia Shi/Snake Creeps Down
      • Jin Ji Du Li/Gold Pheasant (Rooster) Stands on One Leg
      • Zuo You Fen Jiao/Separate the Feet
      • Zhuan Shen Deng Jiao/Turn the Body Around and Strike with the Heel
      • Zuo Lou Xi Ao Bu/Bush the Left Knee
      • You Lou Xi Ao Bu/Brush the Right Knee, Twist Step
        Jin Bu Zai Chui/Plant the Fist in the Ground
      • Shang Bu Lan Que Wei/Step Forward and Grasp Sparrow’s Tail
      • Dan Bian/Single Whip
